VIRTUAL: Drawn Together - Art Journaling Series for Teens

Monday, April 127:00—8:00 PMVirtualWinchester Public Library80 Washington St, Winchester, MA, 01890

This event is for students in grades 6-12.

What is art journaling?  Anything you want it to be.

Okay, we know that's not helpful, but it's true.  It's a form of journaling that can go in any direction you want - you can use drawing, painting, collage, photography, or anything else in order to express your feelings.  You don't need any artistic "talent" to create an art journal.  All you need is a willingness to play with your materials and see what you can create.

This series will take place every other week throughout March and April, for a total of five sessions.  Here's how it will work:

1.  Register here. Registration for the first event registers you for all of them. Missed the registration window? Look out for more events in the future!

2.  Zoom sessions will be held every other Monday at 7 PM.  Those dates are March 1, March 15, March 29, April 12, April 26.  The Zoom link will be included in your confirmation email but we'll also send reminders with the link later.

3.  The week before each session we will arrange for you to pick up a small bag with a few random art supplies to help inspire you to create things you might not otherwise.  The art supplies are yours to keep.

4.  During the Zoom meeting we'll go over an art technique and a journal prompt to spark your creativity.

5.  On the Mondays between sessions I will email you an additional journal prompt to keep you creating until we meet again.

The fine print:  You need to provide your own surface to work on.  Art journaling can be done on anything - loose paper, an old notebook, sketchbooks, even the pages of an old book you don't want anymore.  You can also bring any art supplies you want to our Zoom sessions.

Can't make it to all the sessions?  Don't worry.  You can still pick up your art journaling kit for the week and use it on your own time.  We do hope you can pop in and hang out with us, though.

This event is for students in grades 6-12.
