Author Jack Kelly will read from his new book, Sharp Needle: One Man’s Journey From Hockey to Heroin, Recovery, Politics and Finding Peace, an autobiographical account of his tragic spiral into heroin addiction, recovery and running for office, in the world of Boston politics. 

In the late 1990s, after surgery for a hockey injury in high school, Jack became addicted to prescription opioids. He found recovery at age 22, battling his way back and rebuilding his shattered life.
