About the presenter: Vera Ventura is a four-time cancer survivor, nonprofit founder, educator, and speaker dedicated to empowering communities through mindful living, resilience, and media awareness. She is the Media Literacy and Education teacher at Somerville High School, where she helps students understand how digital content shapes their thinking, emotions, and choices.
Vera has also taught in Wellesley and Watertown, bringing her expertise to diverse communities and age groups. Her work blends psychology, storytelling, and lived experience to help people navigate modern challenges with clarity and compassion. As founder of Breast Cancer Goddess, she brings a unique, holistic lens on healing, empowerment, and the impact of conscious choices—both in health and in the media we consume.
